What kind of training exercises can I find in Theo?Answer
At the moment Theo contains a wide range of training exercises for field hockey and indoor hockey. The exercises and drills are very varied and can best be categorized as: technique exercises, physical exercises, exercises that improve match play an match awareness, drills & exercises for goalkeepers and tactical exercises.
Within Theo there are single drills and exercises, complete training sessions composed with a selection of exercises and comprehensive training curriculums based on complete year plan for every age group and ability. There are also specific training packages available if the focus has to be on just a few skills or areas of expertise.
At Theo-door we are whole-heartedly against the “one-size-fits-all” approach. Though our considerable knowledge and experience we know all too well that every team is different and every trainer and every coach is different. The differences needed in exercises are reflected in the training methodology, the goals of the exercises and how and where the accents are set in a training session. This is why Theo has a diverse range of comprehensive curriculums and specific training packages created by experts in their fields. We have the perfect foundation be it for a trainer who is cutting his/her teeth or an experienced professional who has already earnt his/her spurs. Training a team is not just a question of turning up and going through the motions, it involves many thought processes, flexibility, a reflective mind-set and a synergy with the team(s) that can build on results.
Are all the training materials free of chargeAnswer
Yes and No.
Yes, as Theo provides you with a free starters package of 50 exercises that can be downloaded from the shop. Additionally you have free access to the online public library of training exercises that is Theo Community. No, because there are also comprehensive training packages made by experts and available in the Theo shop. These can be paid for with credits, the credits can be easily saved or purchased in the shop section of the app.
What is the difference between an exercise, a training session, a curriculum and a package?Answer
A training exercise is the most simple form of training material: in Theo an exercise is always accompanied by a full description, a summary of the on-field materials required, a list handy tips/directions and an animation or film.
A training session is a carefully composed combination of different exercises: a warming-up exercise, two or three formative core technical/tactical exercises and a small-sided game. Every training session has a different set of goals.
A curriculum is a structured set of combined training sessions designed to cover a longer period of time. Every curriculum has been designed for a specific ability level and age group. A Curriculum has the season divided into equal periods, each period with its own set of training goals. A training package is a combination of specific training exercises around a particular theme or author and available in the Theo shop.

Your exercise will then be available in the public library that is the Theo community. All other Theo-users have access to your exercise. Creating technical and tactical knowledge and sharing it….that’s the Theo way!
I have made my own training exercises. How can I share them with my fellow team members?Answer

Very easily, via the tags section. By filtering your search for age group, number of players, numbers of goalkeepers, attacking, defending small sided games… too many to name.

Yes, you decide the assessment criteria for your own team(s). You can simply and easily create your own assessment and evaluation forms or check/control lists. Select your choice of answer possibilities such as a 5 – point scale, a written feedback, time (stopwatch), a counter or photo.
How do I decide who is allowed to fill-in a player assessment?Answer
An assessment in Theo is always linked to the role of the assessor or the role of those who have been assessed. You can create assessment forms that allow coaches to evaluate the players, or the trainers that evaluate the players…don’t forget, it’s also possible to enable the players to evaluate their coaches or trainers!
Can I make different assessments for the same team?Answer
Of course. You link an assessment form to one or more teams. You can easily differentiate between the level of team and the type of form you use to assess them with. Under 10s will obviously have different assessment criteria to Under 18s.
Can I control when an assessment will be performed?Answer
Naturally. You link an assessment to a specified period of assessment. Within the specified period the assessment will stay active for the assessor to fill-in. The assessor may only fill-in one assessment per player, as long as the period of assessment is active the player assessments can be modified. The most recent version will be saved when the period of assessment expires. When a new period becomes active, the assessor may begin a new round of player assessments.
I have completed an assessment. Who can see what I have filled-in?Answer
Player assessments are obviously very sensitive material and not something that should be available for all to see. The completed assessments are available to the team administrator and the club administrator. It is possible for the club administrator to authorize other Theo users (e.g. a selection panel or club captain), that they also can see the completed assessments. As assessor you can compare your assessments to the average assessment for the selected team. If a player has been assessed, he/she can never automatically see his/her results. If necessary the team of club administrator can share results by sending them per e-mail.
How are the completed evaluations and assessments presented?Answer
Theo has a standard report system in the app, the scores of an assessed player and their scores compared to their own team averages will be displayed.
At www.theo-door.com a selection of standard reports are available where team, age group or individual players can be viewed.
If you would like to go a few steps further than the standard reports then with the touch of a button you can export all your data and create your own more detailed analysis.

Of course you can. If you are authorized you can go to www.theo-door.com and select which information you want to export to Excel. This will enable you to be completely flexible in how you present your reports.

By choosing the web application you will have many more possibilities: show the register per person in a pie chart, or that of a whole age group in a clear and well-presented overview.

If you change your mind half way through the season, no problem at all because you always have the possibility of adding extra teams.
Which training packages are the club paying for with a Club Subscription?Answer
At Theo-door, we don’t believe in a “one-size-fits-all” approach. Every team is different, every trainer is different. It is only logical that the approach to training, the themes and accents in training will differ considerably. For this reason Theo provides not only fully comprehensive training curriculums but also specialist training packages from an array of experts. We provide a solid foundation for rookie trainers but similarly, many sources of inspiration for experienced and certified trainers. After all training is not just a case of doing, but thinking about, adjusting to and anticipating the needs of your team.
